Hi, I've noticed in our Active Directory environment default settings on Windows XP and Server 2003 computers for "net time /querysntp" to be one of two values:
net time /querysntp The current SNTP value is: time.windows.com,0x1 net time /querysntp This computer is not currently configured to use a specific SNTP server. The value does not seem to correspond to new vs. upgraded systems. Our PDC emulator role holder, as recommended, is set to an outside time source. Does the value "time.windows.com,0x1" have some special significance like "obtain your time through normal AD channels, but just in case there is a problem, go to time.windows.com"? There are no time problems in my environment that I am aware of. Thanks for any enlightenment!
