I wondered the same thing. I thought 1 DC, 2 AD Connector Servers and Exchange... Head for the hills!

I always thought it meant 'AD connector' [exchange component]. Does it simply mean 'another DC' ? If so, check that all subnets are assigned with the correct site and that DCs are found in the correct sites. ADU&C can take some time to open if the view saved contains many, many objects, for example. neil PS All DCs are created equal (with the minor exception of FSMO roles). I'd avoid using NT style terminology like DC and ADC :) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ravi Dogra Sent: 28 April 2006 01:31 To: [email protected] Subject: [ActiveDir] DCQuery + Remote Site Hi, I have one DC and 2 ADC's. 1. DC 2. 1ADC 3. 2ADC DC and 1ADC exists on my local network. whereas 2ADC is on remote site. My DC has all 5 Roles + DNS + DHCP. Now issue is that when i am running DSQuery for any thing it gives me answere from 2ADC. Which is ofcourse time consuming. All connections during this query are TCP. My question is Why is it querying 2ADC when i have DC and 1ADC at my local site? At times my MMC Snap in for ADUC takes a lot of time. I can understand that. also this is now a performance and network bandwidth utilization issue for us. Kindly suggest what i can do to resolve the issue. -- Ravi Dogra List info : http://www.activedir.org/List.aspx List FAQ : http://www.activedir.org/ListFAQ.aspx List archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/activedir%40mail.activedir.org/ PLEASE READ: The information contained in this email is confidential and intended for the named recipient(s) only.
