Just read and follow Brett's response... That error is being thrown by a fairly low-level part of AD (from the DSID) and a low value negative number like that is almost always an ESE error. The combination of those pieces of info aligned with Brett responding saying it is physical corruption tells me... listen to Brett.

I'm receiving this error on subtree searches of the Config NC, on a French version of Windows 2003 SP1. Anyone have any ideas?
