We had the drivers and were looking for the steps needed to
use these drivers with WinPE.
We've now figured it out and for the benefit of the
archive, here are the steps we used:
For the DELL SAS PERC RAID this should do the
trick:-
Get the following driver http://ftp.us.dell.com/SAS-RAID/R120960.EXE
Extract all the files and then copy the complete set
into
Update PE_Img\i386\system32\WinPEoem.sif as
follows:-
NOTE Your WinPE disk MUST be made from Windows 2003
SP1 or R2 sources otherwise the above WON'T work!!
Then use OSCDimg.exe to create the CD...
BTW you might also fall foul of getting networking going on this, due
to the NetXtreme II using a Virtual Bus Device (VBD). If you use the -minint
switch on your PE dist then WinPE removes support for VBD devices and you have
to use the Broadcom monolithic driver b06nd51x.sys instead of

Neil We had the same problem
previously while loading drivers for Backupexec system recovery (winpe based) –
but we uploaded the drivers found in dell downloads, also do note that the
Broadcom drivers needs to be downloaded as well (not detectable via
PE)… Not sure if that’s of
