That depends on your configuration.

Normally the client needs a truststore (where the trusted keys are) and the 
server needs a keystore (where the server certificate is). But it is possible 
to set wantClientAuth and needClientAuth, for mutual authentication, on the 
server side, so then the server needs a truststore and the client needs a 
keystore.
