I'm thinking of creating a consumer for every message i get and close it
cleanly after it processed the message.
Do you know how expensive is to create a consumer like that, that would
create a new connection and session every time ?

Yes - just create sessions & consumers
If i run many consumers the same message may be delivered to more than
one
consumer
which is not acceptable..
No - with queues one message is only sent to one consumer, no matter
how many consumers you are running. So the messages are load balanced
across the consumers
