I just went through this same thought process the other week with regards
to keeping my laptop in sync with my desktop. I contemplated writing it in
Perl then abandoned the idea when I found xxcopy. It is a replacement for
xcopy but with about 160 switches. I am quite confident it will do
everything you need and much more. As much as I love perl, there is no way
I could write something with the same functionality this program has. It's
a single executable and it's only 192 KB. Check it out:
