I honestly don't know where you find this limitation, because you
certainly can use a buffer. Are you using CGI.pm? If you aren't, you
definitely should be. And if you are, you can find exactly what you need
in the docs which accompany it, or in the example scripts (which I don't
know if you get them in the original distribution or if you have to go
to Dr. Stein's website, which is mentioned in the CGI.pm docs).
