Why try to crash it? You can use Perl itself for free as long as you want.
For more information, look at www.cpan.org or look at any of the Perl
related news groups.
When I install ActivePerl on my machines, it puts an entry on the start menu
to open up the documentation. That is a good place to start.
The PDK is a special purpose tool for doing things like making .EXEs from
Perl scripts, but you do not need to do that to run Perl scripts.

I just downloaded ActivePerl and Perl Dev Kit yesterday! It says Perl
