I know on WinNT using the cmd.exe unlike the Win9X command.exe you can
redirect STDERR similarly to UNIX using "2>" but I don't thin you can
specifically redirect STDERR to STDOUT. So for example you can redirect both
STDERR and STDOUT to nul on WinNT using "2> nul 1> nul" or likewise you
could redirect either or both to a file.

Kind regards,

Subject: capturing (redirecting) STDERR in windows

:
: On most *nix shells, I can use 2>&1 to redirect
: standard error to standard output, and thus capture
: it when I do a `` or open(BLAH, "blah 2>&1 |"), but
: 2>&1 doesn't work under DOS. Anyone know of
: another trick to easily capture standard error output,
: without saving it to a temp file?
:
: Thanks,
