Problems with PPM and VPM

I have a Windows 2000 system running Perl build 633 with Komodo 2.5.1. I'm trying to install the CDB_File package. When I search for this package using VPM (build 76130 for Komodo) it shows both versions 0.92 and 0.93 but when I then try to install either of these I get the message that the ppd for the package couldn't be found.   I then tried using PPM (v2.1.6) to install this package from the repositories but I get the message "Error installing package 'CDB_File': Read a PPD for 'CDB_File', but it is not intended for this build of Perl (MSWin32-x86-multi-thread)". I downloaded the zip file for version 0.93 from http://ppm.activestate.com/PPMPackages/zips/6xx-builds-only/, unzipped it and tried PPM again but got the same message.   Is it that there is no ppd available for this package that will work with Windows 2000? If that's the case how can I install this package - I don't have a C compiler.   Thanks Eric Robertson.
