Actually, Q-Basic (QuickBasic) is not a bad little language at all.  
And
come to think of it, it's the last GOOD language ever to come out of 
Microsoft.

hands dirty with it.
I would agree that Perl is, indeed, a Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish
Lister, but only when I do something wrong.
When I get it right, however, Perl shines through the muck of

mountain of text I need to process.
