Here is a strange problem: using ActivePerl on a win98 system, I compose perl scripts using crimson editor and then test in the windows command line. Everything is normal until I am executing a script (a script, for example to test regex's), and then the characters I type come out wrong! when I try to type in an "or" symbol (|), it comes out as ~, and then when I try to type in a backslash, it comes out as #, and when I try to type in a tilda, it comes out as this weird 90 degree angle thing, and if I try to type a #, it comes out as the British pound currency symbol.
