Someone at the client site where I work asked me about the rules
regarding the inclusion of CPAN Perl modules in perlapp binaries
which are then used commercially.

Our binaries are not sold independently themselves, but are used
(on customer sites) only as part of an overall monitoring service
by my client.

I'm sure ActiveState must have worked out a satisfactory legal
framework regarding this, but to put my client's minds at rest
does anyone know where the rules on commercial reuse of CPAN
Perl modules are explained?

For example, if one did directly sell a perlapp binary, would one
technically need to include with it the source of all non-core
modules that it uses, or would it be enough to list these and
refer the end-user to CPAN where these modules could be found?

Cheers
