You might find it easier to create a scheduled job on the remote server 
calling a script you build.  Then you can update this script locally and 
ftp to the remote server whenever it needs to be changed.  If the criteria 
for purging is date-based. and the parameters might change occasionally. 
You could even make things tighter by just updating a parameter file 
locally-rather than the whole script.
