You might want to try the comp.lang.perl.tk newsgroup where those that
support Perl/Tk hang out. It would probably be a good idea to check the
archives on google first to see if this question has already been
answered.
I only have build 810 so it may be a different version ov Tk, but the
documentation for Tk::Text includes an -elide option that is described
almost identically to what you quote.
