        Subject: URI problem

        Hi,
        I have a situation.
        Just saying, I have
a piece of data from mysql,
        the company name is A & B
and the URL comes up like this:
        http://www.sample.com/cgi-bin/test.pl?companyName=A%20%20%20B

        and then,
        in the test.pl
        I use URI::Escape

When I give that strung to uri_unescape it produces
'http://www.sample.com/cgi-bin/test.pl?companyName=A B'

(That is 'A' three spaces 'B' - no sign of '&')

        and
the company name is not A & B, but it is just A

My guess would be that perhaps something somewhere is treating white
space as a separator of some kind.

I do not quite understand why it happens like that, can someone
help me to explain why that happens and how to solve it?

You have not really provided enough information. It would make it easier
for us to help you if you could produce a small program that
demonstrates the problem.

HTH
