Deane-
The waiters and waitresses would probably prefer Round Robin, with Desert
following... but if desert required spoons, would those be semaphorks?

Re:IP (definitely, and severely, off topic)
Josh-
Being philosophers, they probably did nothing more than think about forks
as they starved to death before a table stacked with food. One has to
wonder, though, whether the waiters expected them to dine LIFO or FIFO...

But did they fork their thoughts to solve it or stack them?

Okay folks, Josh gets the ten bonus points for being the first to remember
the (in)famous "Dining Philosophers Problem". He gets two more bonus
points for remembering the problem they had with forks.

Deane-
only the ones that sat at the table that figured out how to properly share
their forks!
(is it sad that immediately pictured a picture from the book in my OS
class as an undergrad?)

Just curious, have those philosophers finished their dinner? (Ten bonus
points to the first to solve that riddle.)

Glen--
to use some twisted variant of a common phrase,
at the very least you highlighted that in perl there's always more ways to
skin a cat than you have people working out how to skin the cat!
and it seems there's a developing off-topic inquiry into psychology upon
the list once more!
(hhmmmm... maybe there aren't any rich philosophers because they all
realized they first need to use computers to conquer enough of the world
that they can fund their delving into philosophy.. so now they're all
found on computer-related mailing lists)
