I found that the same script with PDK 6. has 1.3 MB for ActivePerl-5.6.1.638 and 3.3 MB for ActivePerl-5.8.7.815 the larger the script more diference 2 MB - 4.7 MB
I have using 5.8, and most script run in both, a few dont run in 5.6. The question i have, is how diferent are the 2, or why are 2, are one better than the other, i only could find a diference in the encoding, is there more. I planing sell my programs in web, so 5 MB is really a diference, just because is the same program, just one perlapp with 5.6 and other with 5.8 Should i rewrite the few that dont run in 5.6, and married 5.6. Or live with the bigger size. Im new in perl, about a year, so i dont know why are 2 versions, and if one will dissapeirs, or if when one is released the oldest deprecated. Thanks for any help __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
