Title: Message

Hi there,

Could you try one more time to install the latest ActivePerl (5.8.8.817) and then install DBD-Oracle via PPM?  I know that something was broken for a week or two on the PPM server, but everything should be operational now. We did explicitly rebuild and test DBD-Oracle. If it still doesn’t work for you, please report this to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with detailed information about how it is failing.

Cheers,

-Jan

PS: Are you sure Oracle 10.1 includes ActivePerl 5.6.1?  It looks like they built their own Perl version to me.  Just out of curiosity, could you send me the output of `perl –v` and `perl –V` from your Oracle Perl?

Sorry about the repost, but it's been a couple of days and nobody has responded to my question. Any takers?

Also, I tried to install ActivePerl v5.8.7, and initially it looked promising. However, I couldn't get the DBI and DBD-Oracle modules to work. When I tried to connect to my Oracle database, I received a popup message about a missing entry point. I found some old references to the missing entry point when I googled, but nothing that I could use. I expect it was some conflict with Oracle's ActivePerl installation.

I have the Oracle 10.1 database installed on my Windows XP machine. This is the database server and not just the client. This version of Oracle has ActivePerl v5.6.1 included. Up until now, the Oracle distribution of ActivePerl has been doing just fine.

Now I want to add the Log::Log4perl module, but the Oracle distribution does not have ppm. How do I do this?

Later,

BEDick
