Also, check the release notes at the activestate site. 5.61 is listed
as compatible with 2003 server, but I would review the known issues
section as well.

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
to 5.8, i've made several important upgrades from 5.6 and generally
there are not problems at all. Most of the times, it's just about
installing the necessary modules, which can be easily done with ppm.
It's really rare a code that works on 5.6 but not on 5.8.

  Subject: Compatibility Check

  Hello,
We are running ActivePerl v5.6.1 built for MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
Binary build 630 provided by ActiveState Tool Corp. Built 20:29:41 Oct
  31 2001
I know it's old but it works and it's quite an effort to upgrade at a
  large
shop like ours. I am wondering if it is compatible with Windows
Server
  2003 SP1?

Can anyone comment about compatibility or known issues?
  Thanks in advance,
  Paula
