I am having heaps trouble with installing this module XML-libxml. I got the following error when i tried to install it on linux using these steps:- perl Makefile.PL make make test make install But the installation failed at the very 1st line viz. "perl Makefile.PL" ... following is the error what i got. [EMAIL PROTECTED] XML-LibXML-1.63]# perl Makefile.PL enable native perl UTF8 running xml2-config...failed The installed version of libxml2 not compatible with XML::LibXML. You may continue at your own risk, but: - don't expect XML::LibXML to build or work correctly! - don't report errors! - don't send patches! Check the README file for more information on versions that are tested with XML::LibXML
Even tried installing this module on windows, thru this link that was provided earlier in our mailing group:- ppm install http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/XML-LibXML-Common.ppd ppm install http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/XML-LibXML.ppd The installation ran file ... it asked me whether i wanted to get "libxml2.dll fetched and installed" i said "yes" ... but it still throws me an error regarding "The dynamic linked library could not be found in the specified path ... blah blah blah" ... Can't load 'C:/Perl/site/lib/auto/XML/LibXML/Common/Common.dll' for module XML::LibXML::Common: load_file:The specified module could not be found at C:/Perl/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 230. at C:/Perl/site/lib/XML/LibXML.pm line 12 This has never happened before for any of cpan modules ... i have been trying hard to install this module ... i even downloaded "libxml2.dll" from a microsoft site ( when installing on windows" and placed it inthe /site/lib/auto/xml/libxml folder; but tht didnt work either. any advise/pointers is much appreciated. Awaiting ur reply. Thanks and Regards, Ukh . --------------------------------- Get the free Yahoo! toolbar and rest assured with the added security of spyware protection.
