I'm not sure I understand you.
sudo is used to execute a command as another user, do you perhaps mean
su?
What happens when you type the same commands from the command line? Are
there any prompts generated that you need to respond to?
A small self contained example that illustrates the problem may also
help.
A small style issue. All upper case names are generally used for
constants. Variables generally have lower or mixed case. Small, as I
said, but it makes your code a little bit easier for other people to
read.
