After reading your reply, I went back through some of the 5.10
installation doc and found out about ppmprofile. So I temporarily
reverted to 5.8 and ran ppmprofile to save the list of packages I'd
installed under 5.8. Then I re-installed 5.10 and ran ppmprofile
restore, which picked up most of the packages previously installed
under 5.8.
