Hi,
My situation is this. I have a table that has two sets of parent
table lineages like so:
leftparent rightparent
\ / \
child child2
I just found out that I can right click on the associated link to the
child records linked from the "children" column in leftparent. I was
pleasantly surprised to find only the subset records for left parent
showed up in the new window. The link looks like this:
http://my.domain.com/rails/leftparents/7/nested?_method=get&associations=children
But now I want to navigate through to the rightparent of one of the
children. This can also be accomplished by right clicking on the show
link and opening in a new window.
http://my.domain.com/rails/rightparent/9?_method=get&nested=true&parent_column=children&parent_controller=children&parent_model=leftparent
which gives me the green "show" view of this one (right) parent
record.
But here is the question: how can i get it to "close" without showing
the entire "rightparent" table? The show view might be OK if it
actually had link to child2 that I need to navigate down to it. But I
just want that one record to be listed in the table.
I'd imagine that I'd need to override the "show" somehow to recognize
when it should close into just that one record and when it's part of a
whole table.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave
