Thanks for the suggestions. I updated git yesterday so I have the latest version and adding a / results in a project not found.
Tried again this morning without the need for a proxy and with http:// it still failed. Worked with git:// which will be an ongoing problem unless we can define a proxy for git (anyone know how to do that - is it possible?). I see from the git user manual that the protocol can be defined as http or git in the .git file. Is this an "or" or "and/or" and is this project set up for http access?
