You have AS working in Rails 2.3 under JRuby? Are you running it as a
standalone JRuby runtime as opposed to in a JEE container?

Sergio,
I use render_sibling instead of render_component and it worked
correctly, i just add the method expose in [1] to
action_view_rendering.rb and rename the call method in line 59 for
render_sibling (use the same parameters),
Benjamin
Note: render_component plugin don't work for me, i use jruby

I found what is causing the problem of set_session_options. In Rails
2.3 the switch to Rack removed set_session_options from
session_management.rb. That's what's causing server errors when using
render_component. Both rails' version and lackac's version call it.
Perhaps this means that making things compatible with Rack will be
needed to get render_component working, which will be needed to get
nested scaffolds working in AS, unless there's the possibility of
solving it on the AS level only?
Sorry, I forgot you should use rails-edge branch of
http://github.com/lackac/render_component
There is some fixes for rails edge in that branch (set_session_options for
example)

I tried to use lackac's render_component, it results in the same
set_session_options alias_method error.

I am having problems with nested scaffolds via Model Relationships.
Test Scenario:
2 Models: Family and Person. Family has_many :people, Person
belongs_to :family. I set active_scaffold :person,
active_scaffold :family in their respective controllers. When I
click on the 'people' value for my test family, I get an error
'undefined method `render_component' for
#<ActionView::Base:0xb65c3238>.' When I add the render_component
plugin from github, the server fails to start, with an
'`alias_method': undefined method `set_session_options' for class
'ActionController::Base' (NameError)
Sorry, you are right, render_component is used for embedded and nested
scaffolds.
Try withhttp://github.com/lackac/render_component, it should work with
rails 2.3
I'm running the latest active_scaffold from github and the latest
render_component from github, in a fresh rails 2.3.0 app.

I'm a bit confused. I've attempted to use the render_component
plugin to no avail for resolving the render_component error for
nested forms due to an error with alias_methoding. Is there
currently anything in the works to resolve this for the impending
Rails 2.3 release (or a solution I'm just not seeing)?
I think render_component is only needed for embedded scaffolds
(render :active_scaffold). Do you have problems with nested forms
or embedded scaffolds?
