This is probably going to get you into problems if the user re-submits 
the page though?

Generally you want to get the redirect working rather than rendering the 
wrong template in the current action

I would assume you need something way more complex here though since I 
assume it's going into some javascript action though?  I would assume 
you need to inject the redirect as some kind of javascript redirect into 
the output template?
