Yeah, that's closer to where I want to end up.  I've been at this going on 3 
days now.  I'll take any incremental victory.

Sorting a child collection based on a parent select box is a common problem. 
It's also really hard.  It's compounded by the need to pull the children from 
the DB with an AJAX call.  While Googling, I saw all the heavyweights weigh in 
on it.  Including Technoweenie, Ryan Bates, and Ezra.  All the code was ugly.  
All the posters were confused. Some got it to work.
