All, Is there any such thing as a pick list / list of values within Active Scaffold?
I am using AS to provide an admin app for a big database and I want to provide a list of values for associations. For Example, Imagine I am creating a new account object and I need to associate it with a person. If I have 100,000+ people then I don't want to use a drop down list so I need a button next to the appropriate text field which then pops up a list of person records so that I can search/page/ sort and finally pick one which would then populate the association on the account page. I have created text field/button combination which uses redbox to open a thickbox style popup for my associations but I am unsure how to best proceed from there. I was hoping to reuse the AS search/paging functionality (ie the usual AS list screen), but I don't want any of the action links (create, edit, delete) etc and I need the rows to be selectable so that when I click on a row the popup closes and the calling page gets the relevant data. Has anyone done such a thing or has any suggestions as to how I can do this type of thing within the AS framework? I'd like to make it as generic as possible so I can add it back to AS if anyone else would find it useful.
