you may try the following:
in your activescaffold config:
conf.columns[:attribute].options = {:update_column =>
[:attribute_1, :attribute_2]}
add method to your controller:
def after_render_field(record, column)
record.attribute_1 = new_value
record.attribute_2 = new_value2
end
