Have a look at conditions_for_collection. You might be able to do something with that. There are quite a few examples in prior posts on the topic e.g. http://bit.ly/cdIHXs You have access to the search params (for requirements) and you can use that to set the conditions (for the testprocedures).

Another option might be using regular search for the list of requirements and then using recordselect for the testprocedures but I'm not sure if that will really work for HABTM.

Hi,

we have a HABTM relation between two tables (requirements,
testprocedures).

Nested scaffolds etc. all work fine, but we have no good solution for
the following task.

If both tables contain many entries, and I want to go down the list of
requirements and trace to tests that might be related, I want to:

- filter requirements according a particular keyword (e.g.
"performance")
- define a testprocedure filter with a similar keyword (or the same,
e.g. "performance")

And then we'd like to be able to see only the performance-related
tests when we open use "add_existing" method to trace requirements to
tests.

Drop-downs with hundreds of entries are not useful. In which ever way
we attempt the trace, we need to define a "double filter".

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance,
Chris
