That's really old cast, so maybe you changed your javascript and stylesheet includes in your layout, with ones from railscast: <%= stylesheet_link_tag :all %> <%= javascript_include_tag :defaults %> Those lines are wrong for new rails versions, you should keep your previous code for layout.
