Good Morning Guys,

I was searching the web last night and found a few sites that
intrigued me. They claimed to be able to connect multiple locations with
multiple/different OSes and with multiple/different databases all via
the web.
I can see them not fretting about the different types of OSes
simply because of the web(seeing the nature of the web). But how do you
account for the different types of database and their structures? Does
their product have scripts for Access, SQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc. in it
and the user simply selects what scripts they want to use?
Apparently this guys create a central location for everybody to
login to(web) and be able to add info to their database, query other
locations database and all that good stuff.
I am simply trying to understand this and expand my knowledge or
the lack there of, on databases. Does anyone have a 'title' or 'topic'
that I search for online to check how this is done? Or maybe just give a
few points or comments?

Thanks!
