Can I just wade in...

I am a UK citizen and I say the following..

One thousand three hundred and thirty two dollars and fifteeeen cents
or
Thirty hundred and thirty two dollars and fifteeeen cents (I have heard
people say this and I think it sounds terrible)

Mebbe its a European way of saying amounts as I agree with Tore, although
the majority of the time the "and" is only used when there are 10's in the
descriptive amount (be it in millions or thousands, etc) and/or there are
cents.

One hundred and eighty dollars and fifteeeen cents
One hundred dollars and fifteeeen cents
One billion, two hundred and twenty five million, two dollars and fifteeeen
cents
Five Billion, three hundred and eighty-nine million, two hundred and two
dollars and fifteeeen cents.

Didn't really want to mention it but the whole US/UK Billion thing is gonna
mess this up (unless you are not selling billion dollar merchandise of
course, but you never know ;-) )...

Wandering by lone sea-breakers,

World-losers and world-forsakers,
On whom the pale moon gleams:
Yet we are the movers and shakers
Of the world for ever, it seems.
