Hi ACTS,

The University of Sydney is in the process of preparing tender documents
for the supply of PCs and Notebooks.

Has anyone done something like this recently and would be willing to
share what they included ?

I had a look though Eco-buy at the US EPEAT criteria but if there is any
Australian one similar anyone knows about, it would be a great help.

Our wording so far :

The bidder should only supply to the University of Sydney computers
which have been manufactured in a factory having ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
certification.

1.1.1. Please advise the currency and
date of certification.

1.1.2. If certification has not been
obtained please advise when certification is expected to be approved.

The University of Sydney is seeking to reduce the environmental impact
of computer equipment both from the manufacturing, transport and power
consumption.

1.1.3. What is the typical energy
consumption of the equipment specified in this tender, including
monitors if any? Please advise this measure for both the typical
operating scenario and when the equipment is in power down state

1.1.4. Is the equipment Energy Star
rated?

1.1.5. Is the equipment compliant with US
Executive Order 13221?

1.1.6. How do you minimise the use of
packaging materials? Are the packaging materials used recyclable?
Describe any which are not.

1.1.7. Please advise the weight of the
equipment offered under this tender.

1.1.8. Do you offer a take-back or return
scheme at the end of equipment life, typically between 3 and 4 years.

Thanks,
