Hi Anita,

At the University of Washington (being a public institution) artworks are
inventoried, monitored, and occasionally decommissioned and/or out for repair.
The artwork may be included on the grounds or within any of its owned or leased
properties, including the University-owned home of the UW President. There
are also artworks that can be placed within offices on a loaned basis and are
returned to storage when not being shown - but there is no hierarchy of who may
and who may not have these placed in their offices - just practical concerns
regarding security, climactic conditions, etc. Let me know if you'd like the
policy references, however they are heavily integrated into the way public art
is handled by this state and we are in the midst of revising them.

My best,

Rebecca

Subject: [acupa-l] Installation of Art from the University Collections
Importance: High

ACUPA Members,
How does your institution handle the installation of pieces from permanent art
collections in the home of your university president or chancellor? Does it
permit art to be installed in the offices of cabinet-level university officers,
as well?

Thanks in advance for sharing,
Anita English
