Hello,

Our institution is developing a policy to ban animals on campus. This, of
course, does not pertain to Service Animals - we have a separate policy for
that. Does anyone have a stand-alone policy banning "non-service animals on
campus" that they would be willing to share?

Thank you,

Hi Lynda,

UT Austin just adopted a new "Animals on Campus" policy that may be found at:
 http://www.policies.utexas.edu/policies/animals-campus

Although our policy addresses both service and support animals on campus, it
does provide some general parameters about bringing other animals on campus.
Maybe you'll find it helpful.

Just 60 days until spring for all you folks up north!

Regards,
Candice Fischbach

We are just developing our service animal policy and would love to see yours

Dear Lynda,

The Australian legislative context maybe different but here is a link to our
Animals on Campus Policy: http://policies.uws.edu.au/view.current.php?id=00018.
It has a range of exemptions including assistance and therapy dogs, natural
fauna, working dogs (ie farm dogs), security, defence force and police dogs
when undertaking relevant work and controlled by a handler, and research and
teaching animals. To give you a context we have a working farm, and extensive
native bushland on some of our campuses.

Hope this is helpful.

Cheers,
Tanya

Hi, Lynda,

Here is Cornell's policy:
http://www.dfa.cornell.edu/treasurer/policyoffice/policies/volumes/facilities/pets.cfm

Good luck-this was our most controversial policy to date. I hope you don't
have as much furor over it as we did.
