From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michele Gross Sent: Wednesday, October 15, 2014 1:37 PM To: Institutional policy-related discussions Subject: [acupa-l] ACUPA Bylaws and Officers Dear policy colleagues, We’re excited to announce that ACUPA’s first Bylaws have been finalized and ratified by unanimous vote of the ACUPA Board of Directors. Thank you for your support and assistance in this major task! You may have noted that one section in the Bylaws is dedicated to the different officer positions and their unique responsibilities. The first year of any new organization is unusual in terms of the foundational work that must be accomplished: writing Bylaws, setting up a bank account, selecting a financial service to collect dues, developing a training manual for board members, etc. To ensure that these key tasks received the attention they needed, we conducted a selection of officers via the process outlined in the Bylaws. These officer positions are each for a term of one year. The new Board of Directors, which will be elected under these Bylaws for a term beginning July 1, 2015, will be responsible for electing the new slate of officers. With that as an introduction, we’re pleased to attach the approved Bylaws and announce the ACUPA officers for 7/1/14-6/30/15.
