Hi,

At the University of New Mexico, we have a set of
guidelines<http://social.unm.edu/guidelines/> on social media, but not a
policy. Recently, I was asked to discuss the possibility of developing a
policy with the Deans' Council due to one Dean's concerns about her faculty
friending students on Facebook, but there was not overall support for such a
policy and the Deans and Provost raised concerns about academic freedom. The
University's School of Medicine has a small "p" policy on Social
Media<http://som.unm.edu/students/_policies/Social-Media-Policy.pdf>.

Best,
Pamina

Subject: [acupa-l] Policy on Social Media

Hi everyone,

I would be interested to see how other colleges and universities have addressed
policy on social media if you wouldn't mind sharing. This is an on-going
concern at our institution and heating up.

Best regards,
