David, Here is a link to our Board policy regarding honorary degrees. I am not aware of any issues or challenges with the policy or the process of choosing recipients. One of our board members is a member of the Honorary Degree Committee. Since it is a Board-level policy, and not a University-level policy, it does not go through the formal vetting process that involves our Policy Review Committee.
