Hi Cara,

I just ran a quick check of the University of Washington's policy materials and
we address some aspect of safety in the following:

* 11 different chapters of the Washington Administrative Code (rules in
which we address the public, as well as our employees and students, of safety
issues - usually connected with a one's conduct or use of university
facilities);

* 16 separate standalone policies (all coming variously from our Board
of Regents, the University President, and delegated Vice Presidents/Vice
Provosts); and

* even 1 chapter in our Faculty Code.

In addition, we are in the midst of addressing safety in at least four more new
policies that are still in the works. I'd say we address safety in multiple
policies; sometimes in overarching ways and in other policies, in very specific
ways. Let me know off-line if there is a specific issue your university is
trying to address and I'm happy to narrow the field.

My best,

Rebecca

Subject: [acupa-l] Campus safety policy

Dear ACUPA members-

How does your institution address overall safety concerns. Does it have one
umbrella policy or does it have various safety concerns addressed by specific
policies? Or do you have both?

Your insights on this and any links to your policies would be greatly
appreciated. As always, thank you in advance for your help. I appreciate it.

Regards,
