Subject: Security fees for campus events

Hi,

Greetings from the University of New Mexico! We are interested in examples of
other institutions’ content-neutral criteria for determining security fees for
campus events (including events sponsored by units of the institution, events
sponsored by chartered student organizations, and events sponsored by outside
entities). We are addressing this issue after a recent visit by Breitbart
editor Milo Yiannopoulous; the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education
raised legitimate concerns about our current criteria for assessing security
costs for chartered student organizations sponsoring such speakers. For more
information, click
here<https://www.thefire.org/victory-university-of-new-mexico-suspends-speech-code-waives-speech-tax-for-milo-yiannopoulos-speech/>.

Thanks,
Pamina
