Hi Todd, We don't have it in our manual yet, but we've spent the last three months combing through all our documents to locate the many instance of he/she, his/her, him/her and the plurals to replace them with gender neutral terms. We found them, sorted by policy owner, proposed the changes, confirmed it with the policy owners so that we did not change any meaning unintentionally, then published. This was thought to be something we could handle as a quick hit, but it was definitely not. The gendered terms were in every document type we had, including forms and contracts. We either report the subject of the statement (employees, faculty, etc.) or use "they", just as Melinda does.
We're all in the middle of an Equity Lens project to see what recommendations we will propose to our President's Policy Committee for implementation in policy development. Those recommendations should be ready by September for their review. Thanks for asking!
