Hi Shannon, Happy Thursday! We use a lot of the process that we have in place for changing a policy. We require that they complete a form, state the reason for the retirement, and identify what other related policies exist. We want to make sure thatt he policy retirement doesn't have a negative impact elsewhere and that if associated changes need to be reflected in other policies, it happens.
These requests for retirement do go through our two-tier review and approval process (Policy Advisory Committee and President's Policy Committee). If approved, which they usually are, they are no longer available on our site and the action is reflected in our "Recently Updated Policies" tab for the next 90 days. Here is a link to the required form. https://policy.umn.edu/forms/search-results?combine=administrative+policy%3A++Comprehensive+review Michele On Thu, Oct 19, 2017 at 8:09 AM, Wrenn, Shannon <swr...@umaryland.edu> wrote: > Morning, > > > > I am working on implementing a standard process for deactivating policy. > We have decided we wanted a memo that is directed to my office and the > Chief Compliance Officer from the responsible VP’s office to be placed in > the policy records.
