Remember if you build a new domain you'll have to redo the security on ALL your 
resources like file systems.

That is why I was thinking it would be better to create a new domain and 
migrate users to that. How does exchange handle that process?

You might want to seriously take a look at these articles before you look to 
rename your existing AD

Hi.
We are a college and we are changing out name thus the domain name will have to 
be changed.
I am running AD on windows 2003 serve and exchange 2003 for email.. Is it best 
to setup a new domain and migrate users to that or try to rename the current 
one in place.
Any suggestions would be helpful
