I'm biased too but I'll echo Michael's sentiments about the Quest tools. People
balk at the price but once you look at the possible time savings it generally
makes sense to just buy them; I once used QMM for AD in an intra-forest
migration to collapse 22 domains with 21000 users in under 4 weeks. I highly
doubt I could have done it using ADMT in anything close to that time...

Thanks,

Four letters: ADMT

:-)

That's your solution (for free) from Microsoft. There are loads of whitepapers
and documentation available for ADMT on the Microsoft web properties.

Lots of third paries are in this space too - Quest probably has the best tools
(but I'm biased).

Subject: Merging two domains from two forests

We currently have two Windows Server 2003 domains in two separate forests. We
are planning to merge the two domains into one forest.
I'm looking for best practices or step-by-step instructions for merging two
domains from separate forest into one forest.

Thanking you in advance for your help.

Regards,
Gary
