We're a W2k3 R2 domain, mostly XP workstations, but have somewhere between 75-100 Vista clients as well. No roaming profiles or GPOs attached to those systems. No issues joining the domain or with them accessing resources.
Have W2k8 in lab environment. Once we have upgraded AD to W2k8, we'll start playing around more with GPOs and Vista. Thank you both for your replies. It sounds to me like I really should avoid Roaming Profiles between XP and Vista. I think I can live with that, for a while. It also sounds like simply connecting a Vista system to my domain shouldn't hurt anything, which is good to know. I only have around 54 Vista systems, and they need to be on the domain, but don't need to use Roaming Profiles or GPO's yet... Anyone else want to throw in any advice? Thanks again!
