I've got a group policy that configures IE to use a proxy server.

Due to changes in our network, I'll no longer need to route users through the
proxy server using group policy.

If I turn disable this policy (e.g., by removing users from the group to which
the policy applies), will IE's proxy settings revert back to the default of not
using a proxy server? Or will it retain the old settings applied by the group
policy and keep looking for the proxy server? In which case, rather than
disable the policy, I would need to keep it enabled but modify it to configure
IE to not use a proxy server...
