Jason, I saw that KB article, but didn't see anything on my server that the article referenced.
It's difficult to find the problem, because nothing gets written to the event viewer what I try to start IIS. One other thing, I migrated from a stand alone server to a VM system. I'm guessing the issue may have surfaced after the migration, but with nothing in the event viewer, I couldn't tell. I don't use the web services certificate enrollment often, but when needed it, that's when I noticed the problem. Troy Adkins Network Administrator Virginia House of Delegates General Assembly Bldg. At some point, I don't know when, it stopped. When I try to start it now, I receive the following error msg: "Could not start the IIS service on local computer. Error 193:0xc1" I'm using the IIS service to run Certificate Services Web Enrollment Support. See if this applies http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q325680 Jason Any ideas?
